IT Operations Administrator (Deskside Support)

Seeking super helpful IT pro who will be responsible for helping our awesome team with a plethora of technical questions, issues and concerns.   You’ll answer the questions, resolve the tickets, and manage the systems in a creative environment with lots of support.  Must be a self-starter.  We expect you to fix things pretty independently, which means a tremendous amount of autonomy (no micromanaging). Great opportunity for someone with help desk support experience to use your skills and learn (on the job) the things that you don’t already know.  You will never be bored and you’ll get exposed to just about everything in our technically diverse, high-energy environment.

What will I do in this role?

  • Deskside Support: You will be helping all employees who have issues with laptops (Mac and PC), Antivirus, Email access, phones, software, network performance,  etc.
  • Office Networking: You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the network performance of our LAN. Ensuring secure and effective wired, wireless and even cellular reception, will be in your realm.
  • iSeries Administration: Manages the installation of the operating system, releases, PTF’s, software and hardware upgrades on the AS/400. Provides support for EDI transactions.
  • KACE System Administration: You will be responsible for maintaining our inventory management, ticketing and software imaging system.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: You'll be tasked with setting up new machines, coordinating account set up, collection and account delection.

What experience do I need to be successful in this role?     

  • 3+ year deskside support, should include customer service and helpdesk type experience
  • Excellent customer focused attitude
  • Windows desktop and active directory management
  • MacOS desktop and iOS management
  • Experience managing VoIP devices and associated networking
  • Experience managing mobile devices and subscriptions (Cellphones, Tablets)
  • A process oriented mindset
  • Thrives in an independent, fast-paced work environment
  • Experience on the command line - Powershell, Bash, CL

Nice to Have experience includes:

  • CCNA/CCNP or demonstrable Cisco networking experience
  • Experience with AWS, VMWare and Sophos
  • Experience building and maintaining firewalls and VPNs
  • Experience creating scripted installs
  • Exposure to AS/400 would be swell!
